The company said in a news release Monday that it will begin deploying new technology in 2018 to make its warehouses more efficient and safe for patients.
The company’s announcement comes as U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration has made its case for tighter immigration restrictions, which would prevent the release of people into the country.
“We are making great strides toward helping our patients in every part of the world,” said Paul K. Anderson, vice president of human resources at Universal Logistical Services.
“Today, we are proud to announce the opening of the first U.K. U.G.H. (U.K.) logistics hub in the U. K., a hub that will enable us to quickly and securely ship orders to and from patients and their families across Europe and beyond.”
The first UGH warehouse will be opened in Cardiff, Wales, the company said.
The new hub will be fully operational by 2019, the same year Universal Logistic Services is expected to expand into the Us.
The U.k.
UG.h. hub will operate in the same space as its U. k., and will be staffed by a team of two to three staff members, Universal Logistically Services said.
In the U s, the U Gh will begin with two shipping containers with approximately 1,000 metric tons of goods that can be packed to be shipped within the United Kingdom, the firm said.
It will also provide access to other hubs in the EU and Canada to further improve the delivery speed of U. S. orders, Universal said.
“This partnership will make the UGh more accessible for patients around the world.
We are confident that UG h will be the ideal place to ship to patients for the foreseeable future,” Anderson said.
Universal Logism Services has a presence in seven U.N. hospitals in the European Union and more than 60 in Canada.
The two companies have a longstanding relationship.
Universal said the UGs shipping hubs are the first to be equipped with an automated system that will help customers efficiently and safely ship packages, the release said.
