In an announcement on Monday, DHL logistics company Prime Logics announced that it will be acquired for $1.8 billion by a group of European firms including DHL.
Prime Logical is the world’s largest logistics company, and is also a logistics company that has been involved in delivering freight across the world.
The acquisition will enable Prime to focus on its core business of logistics, which includes logistics logistics services for the transportation of goods across borders, as well as the expansion of its supply chain for food, clothing and other consumer goods, and in the supply chain of pharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals related products, and other medical and industrial goods.
Prime also operates a logistics operations center, and its delivery of goods is currently supported by DHL’s delivery network.
The news comes just a day after Prime announced that the logistics operations office in Hamburg, Germany, would be relocated to a new location in the Netherlands.
The new location will be able to support the delivery of about 2 million parcels a year and the delivery and handling of around 300,000 parcels a day.
Prime is also working with the Netherlands and Belgium to further expand its distribution capabilities, including logistics to other parts of the world that currently cannot access its logistics network.
Prime will continue to operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of DHL, which has been a significant supplier of logistics services to the German market for decades.
The company is headquartered in Hamburg.
DHL and Prime have had a long history together.
In 2000, Prime was acquired by DOL, and Prime is now part of the DHL Group, which operates in Germany, France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Turkey, Japan, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.
The merger of Prime and DHL is expected to close in 2020.
The German-Dutch-Swedish conglomerate will now continue to be the world leader in logistics services, providing more than 10 million parcels per year.
Prime has also provided logistics services in North America and the European Union for more than 15 years.
