U.S. companies are increasingly turning to logistics companies to supply their operations and deliver goods for consumers.
(AP Photo/Lucy Nicholson) U.K. companies using logistics firms to supply parts for their factories are also becoming more involved in the global supply chain.
UBS said in a note Monday that it is now the biggest logistics company in the world, adding that it will soon begin offering contracts to deliver goods to companies in other countries.
The company said it will also begin offering more contracts to customers, though it did not specify which ones.
“In the coming months, we plan to begin offering additional services to customers,” it said.
“These services include contracts to ship goods to customers in third countries, including logistics services, transportation, delivery, and logistics support.”
The U.KS.-based firm also said that it plans to expand its services in China, where the government has restricted U.B.s access to the supply chain to protect against counterfeiting.
“The Chinese government has been working closely with UBS to expand the scope of UBS’ operations in China to enable the company to meet growing demand for its products,” the note said.
UB said that, for now, it will continue to focus on its core business.
Ubs said that its products include “high-quality, environmentally sound products,” such as its products in the U.N. Security Council and for the military, as well as products for food and medicine.
“We have a robust supply chain, which means that the UBS logistics team can deliver goods directly to customers wherever they are, in whatever location they need to be,” the company said.
